I love it when I see crossfit at work in real life. Following Smiley to Warm River, Jen and I were in the back car with the children. Smiley was towing the raft and innertubes in the lead car. All of a sudden one innertube flew off the trailer and into the middle lane of traffic. Reflexes in the lead car were sureal. Smiley was off to the side of the road and running towards our car. Likewise, Jennifer had pulled off to the side of the road and before I could give advice, she did a gasser to the middle lane when traffic had cleared and retrieved the innertube. Back at the car Jennifer passed off the innertube to Smiley who then did a sprint back to his car and did a box jump onto the trailer from the road and secured the innertube. Wow! So far I'm impressed. Fast forward to now we are in the river with four innertubes hitched to the outside hooks of the raft and Smiley rowing four children and 2 adults down the river. Two of the innertubes have head rests and cup holders and the 2 adults are having a relaxed time. All of a sudden there is an iceburg of a rock jutting out of the river and Smiley seems to be rowing his mother's innertube right for the iceburg! Mother is only able to scream. She also does crossfit and has perfected the scream. Mother thinks Smiley is surely joking and will row away from the iceburg.I mean, it was only at 5:30am that we had done a boatload of rowing at the gym. After Mother's innertube crashes into the iceburg she hears, "Guess I am wasted from this morning's wod." Motto: if you know ahead of time the day's activity you may need to adjust your wod in the morning.
Pretty funny Smiley's Mom! I subbed ring rows for the burpee pull ups, which is a lot easier, so I got to finish and watch Jessie and Bond kill themselves on the last round. Very impressive.
