About us

"CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, fire departments, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is no specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kid of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed the workouts posted and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and home."

Why Train At Maltese CrossFit?

•CrossFit is the ultimate training program. It is purposely broad, general and inclusive and is random in its approach. Each day is different. You will not get bored and never plateau with progress.
•We coach you every time you walk into Maltese CrossFit. We are here to push you to be your best.
•We use functional movements that carry over to tasks as in life. We coach you how to move your bodies efficiently and powerfully.
•We specialize in not specializing. We coach you to be well rounded in your fitness and develop skills in the 10 domains of fitness: Endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
•We are about getting back to the basics of fitness and train that way. We don’t have fancy, hi-tech machines. The only machine we use is you. We believe how you train is more important than where you train. We train with equipment that mimics everyday life movements.
•CrossFit prepares your body to adapt to the unknown and the unknowable. If you embrace the CrossFit method and make a serious effort to stick to the program, you WILL achieve results. You will gain confidence in your physical abilities. This confidence will carry over to all other challenges that life throws at you.
Maltese CrossFit is a garage style gym filled with simple things that you might not have seen before, but instinctively make sense when you grab a hold. We deal with functional movements that are constantly varied and performed at a high intensity. Functional movements are those that we use in our everyday lives. They are movements that we do naturally. Our bodies are not genetically designed to isolate muscles or even muscle groups. It doesn’t matter if you are throwing a fastball, carrying a victim from a fire or placing a box on a high self, everyday actions require our muscles to move in sync with one another. These multi-joint movements, that create functional fitness for daily life, do not require isolation base machines. They require moving your body, moving weight in your environment, and getting your heart rate going. The training methods we use allow you to move in the ways that you were created to.

We offer a fun and exciting environment that is a family atmosphere. We do things here that can get you kicked out of other gyms. We use chalk, drop weights, and make noise. We play your music (bring in what you want to listen to during your workout). We post workout results on the white board for all to see. Creating both competition and camaraderie. There is always a coach present; observing and correcting during the workouts to make sure that you are moving correctly. We don’t just show you once how to do something and cut you lose. We are always there coaching you and pushing you to be your best.

Sam has been into sports and fitness his whole life, playing three sports all through high school and went on to play football in college. Then he went on to be a college football position coach at Augsburg college in Minnesota. “I got out of coaching in order to pursue and achieve my goal of becoming a firefighter.” In doing all those things he has always stayed in shape and looked for ways to better himself. The demands of an athletic career and a firefighting career kept him striving for ways to stay ahead of the game. Sam discovered CrossFit in August of 2008. It has shown him a whole new level of fitness and has shown him more results in a year than years of other training methods. The gains have come in everyday life as well as in fitness gains. “It has given me a different perspective on life. It is my goal with this gym to be able to coach people on the things I have learned and help them to be more fit and prepared to handle anything life may throw at them.”

Parker has been active is sports and fitness all his life playing Soccer and Football in high school. Spending countless hours in the gym trying to stay in shape was a way of life. The demands for elite fitness became even higher when he became a firefighter here in Idaho Falls, where he started to compete in the Firefighter Combat Challenge and formed a local team. Known as “The toughest two minutes in sports”, the combat challenge caused him to pursue a level of fitness he felt was never attainable until a friend told him about CrossFit. It has shown him more results in a shorter period of time than he ever thought he would see in his life and made him passionate to share these results with the community.
