Did aerobics/step (yes I used to be a certified aerobics instructor), bootcamp, kickboxing, then I upgraded to Jen's workouts which I was doing when she introduced me to Crossfit. Deryk was doing your typical school sports training. (Which we found out that some of them are not as "trained" as they claim to be. :)
Squats Lori 95/106/115x15 Deryk 65/70.5/80 x 5
Deryk 8:05 25# Lori 15:03 25# some new funky pullups with the thick green band. Love the pic Mike. What a great idea for punishment for my boys :)
I did weight training in the gym and ran a bit, then stopped lifting as much and worked on running after hitting a pleateau. Glad I did that so I don't hate running as much as others. wod 6:19
We won't talk about my time today. My double unders WILL get better... I keep telling myself that! I used to soley run..and ALOT of it..but after kids I started to do yoga, pilates, boot camp, and those sort of classes.. but I don't think I could ever go back to those after experiencing Crossfit! 70#x5/18:22/ can't believe I did double unders Used to run and play tennis; woke up one morning weighing the most I have ever weighed when Smiley did an intervention on me just as I was about to do a weight loss program. I started Cross Fit, met all of you and have never looked back. I have been down looking up on the gym floor, but never back.
Shawn had a good time! He enjoys the crossfit exercise. I enjoyed lifting wieghts before but i did not do it very much and i hate running.Crossfit gives me best of both worlds.
I was at Apple for a long time and in a serious rut. Recumbent bike, treadmill, revolving stairmaster and weights...same thing over and over every day it seemed. Crossfit has been a godsend. Thank you, Jeff!
165/176/196 x 6 today + 14:55 WOD (be grateful you didn't have to watch my double unders :-)
Didn't think it was possible to send my heart rate into the triple digits while squatting, or for the matter, feeling like I sprinted for ten seconds on each repitition. Thanks to the fellows at Cross Fit (Sam) for helping me tighten things up and utilize the whole body. Good stuff coming from this box. Oh, and then the WOD, to hell with double unders, haha! Good stuff.
Back squat--85, 95, 105. Time: 7:03 (blue band, singles X 3). Pre-crossfit: body building style of lifting and running (when I worked out at all that is).
145, 155, 165. 8:13 on the WOD. I caught up with Brandon on the DUs and had the identical time! Probably the last time that happens! I worked out at Apple pretty regularly for years but then I did nothing (and I mean nothing) for a year and a half. Crossfit is exactly what I have been looking for but never knew it! BTW, I saw a picture of Matt in the newspaper exercising at the Apple (reading a magazine on the recumbent bike) and I thought "Perfect Crossfit material!"
On vacation this week, doing warm-ups and lots and lots and lots of pushups. Goal is to do 100 without going to knees. With a minute rest in between sets, did 38, 12, 10, 11, 11. Total: 82.
You should have seen Sam showing me what my face looked like during my last round of double unders!! I will eventually get better...with time. I ran for the most part...but do I have to say it?...yes I did zumba before and hip hop classes at the apple.
Sam used to make fun of my face too. I loved to run but now I realize it wasent really running it was slow jogging. I also love to rock climb. I did a little jogging before I had my second child and a little during and after. Sadly thats about it. So glad to have found crossfit! It's changed my life! 8:13 Emily

ReplyDeleteI love that pic
ReplyDelete110:56. Ring pulls and no weight on lunges. Glad to be back!

ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that no one has ever attempted to read a magazine while doing a Crossfit WOD!
